In Camper among the South Tyrolean Christmas Markets

Lights, scents, flavors: the best way to let yourself be conquered by the magic of Christmas is to stroll through the suggestive markets that animate the Italian villages between December and January. What better occasion than the long weekend of December 8 to indulge in a small tour and buy the first gifts?

We leave on board our smartvan discovering four villages in the Alto Adige region famous for their traditional Christmas markets.

MERANO

Let's start from Merano, whose historic center hosts from 24 November 2017 (with the inauguration on the Kurhaus Terrace) to 6 January 2018, one of the most famous markets in Trentino Alto Adige. Between tradition, folklore and gastronomic specialties, Merano presents a packed calendar of events suitable for the whole family. Don't forget to take a trip to the thermal baths, located right in the center of the town.

BOLZANO
During the Christmas period, Bolzano turns into a nativity scene made of lights and magic and visited by thousands of tourists every year. The market is hosted between via Erbe and via dei Portici from November 24th 2017 to January 6th 2018 and during the Christmas period the city is best equipped to host campers from all over Europe. You just have to park the smartvan and immerse yourself in the Christmas of Bozen!

BRESSANONE
Bressanone is the oldest city in the region, it is famous for the tradition of nativity scenes and for 800 years it has hosted the historic Christmas market. If you go to this location do not miss the opportunity to taste local red wine

BRUNICO

Skiing by day and Christmas markets in the evening: this is the perfect program if you go to Brunico, the capital of the Val Pusteria, located near one of the largest ski areas in the Dolomites with over 100 km of snow-covered slopes.
Between elegant buildings and romantic views, Brunico hosts the Christmas market from 24 November to 6 January. Although one of the smallest in Trentino Alto Adige, it will not disappoint you: enjoy traditional Tyrolean music and taste local specialties (we recommend the delicious Bavarian desserts).

Where to stop:
Parking lots for campers are located near the station, in the school area and in the Parking Centro Città P1.
