The deserving municipalities awarded at the Salone del Camper di Parma with a fund to create areas equipped for campers
There are five locations that have won the tender "The Municipalities of Tourism in Freedom 2017": the municipalities will be awarded on September 16 at the Parma Motorhome Show and will be able to benefit from the fund for the construction of areas equipped to welcome tourists.
To participate in the call for the creation of An equipped and multifunctional parking area for campers and caravans, called by the Caravan and Camper Producers Association, created in collaboration with ANCI - National Association of Italian Municipalities, Federterme, Federparchi and FEE, were 144 municipalities throughout the country.
THE WINNING CITIES
Rocca de 'Baldi (Cuneo) wins the prize for the “Northern Italy” section. The Piedmontese village enjoys an extraordinary rural center much loved by travelers
City of the Pieve (Perugia) wins for the “Central Italy” category. The Municipality offers travelers evocative medieval glimpses and the panorama of the Chiana Valley.
Belpasso (Catania) wins for the "South and Islands" section. The town enjoys the proximity to Etna and the presence of the "mud volcanoes", small hills that erupt clay characteristic of this territory.
Naples instead it wins for the “Restructuring and Implementation” section.
For this 16th edition there was a fifth special section dedicated to the municipalities affected by the 2016 earthquake: the winning city was Serravalle di Chienti (Macerata). The locality, hit by the calamity in August 2016, won the special award for the earthquake-hit areas. The parking area for campers and caravans will represent an important incentive to relaunch tourism in central Italy: to realize it Serravalle di Chienti will be able to benefit from a prize of 30 thousand euros (10 thousand more than the traditional sections) to promote tourism in campers and caravans in its territory.
